I am a little depressed as I compose this week's race report as have somehow managed to delete all of Saturday nite and Sunday's pictures from my digicam. Still not sure how I did it but do have some pics from Friday and Saturday morning.
I have been hearing that just maybe the race report is too wordy so will try to use more pics and less words for those of you with shorter attention spans.

Now only have one 80 lb block instead of 2 on the axle.
I went to Minden on Friday to do repairs to axle weight and to install new inboard ballast plates. Still have not found the missing blue block.
Plates total 240 pounds. Each pc is 12" x 16" x 3/8" and weighs 20 lbs. I placed them in 3 different mounting locations. Both rear foot wells and passenger back seat mount.
Had to trim a few of the plates to fit.
Cold was not a problem

Results:

Class one: didn't get results but I know I got a 1st in Sunday's first race with the 740 sedan and finished 3rd in the final race.
Results Class 1 (forgot to pick up results)

Class 11: Sunday had a 2nd
Results Class 11 (forgot to pick up results)

CASC ice race site and hit F5 key for latest standings (may not be posted till later in week).

Track Conditions/ Weather:

Saturday:
Colder than forecast very slippery track all day, used the new Sedan until after a stud race at end of day when the wagoon was driven.

Sunday:
Colder still but sunny with -26C Sunday at 8 AM. Track very very slippery again with stud line showing lots of dirt and a huge one foot deep by one car wide trough in several corners

Racing:

Saturday:

Myself, Terry Dalton and Chris Guerrera found ouselves not listed on the grid sheet for the class one quali. No explaination could be given and we were summarily placed at the back of the grid! Way to go PMSC! Also Terry was grided way to the back in another race when he had in fact finished second in the previous race. Also we were red flagged in another race after 1/2 lap because they started the race without putting all the cars on the grid!!! On the restart I noticed that the grid order was also changed! Wow!

Generally speaking the track was very slippery with some good grip in one groove down the straight.

I stuffed it in the snowbank in a class 11 race see Highlites section below.

Sunday:

PMSC managed to hold together for Sunday and things progressed somewhat smoother. Power off in Minden from 8 AM to about noon. The Minden B&B thoughtful to grab us some muffins from Mr D's (guess they had a geni there).

First race was me in class 1 and I pulled off a win! Dropped to a 3rd finish in the next race though. Class 11 found me splitting up the Larry/Terry affair and landing in betweeen them for a 2nd on extreme slippy conditions with major ruts in the track even dirt showing up in the corners. I do believe I am getting a handle on the new sedan!

Highlites:

Click for VideoStuffing the Wagoon (Class 11 race) on the 2nd lap after a stud race with a first time passenger in the car (Glenn McKay SAC#70's new girl). Click the pic at left for a Video. Lots of grip but driver out of control. You can hear many "incidents" of contact. I almost get spun by Larry Kovacks on the exit to the first corner. Then I go wide into the same corner on the next lap and get some great footage of Terry Dalton through the entire corner. Then there is the big crash as I broadside the red MR 2 at the quanset hut and go totally out of control bouncing off him and right across the track and up onto the opposite snow bank. You can tell how bad it was by the fact you see the MR 2 at the end of the clip just finishing spinning and backing into the snowbank in front of me! He gets going again, I don't.

Click for Video There was an "issue" with Mr Wenzel at the Rockcliffe Friday nite that involved Rockcliffe Security personel.

Pretty dangerous looking scoop here
Fair bit of snow and blown snow to shovel out.
Class 12 & 13 (front wheel drive) race had about 28 cars in it so big in fact that they had to split it up into two races on Sunday. Huge 5 car wide melees into the first corner. One guy got pushed sideways from the exit of the first turn all the way into the kink by the freighttrain of 4 cars wide before they let go of him.
Like I said that's all the pics at this time as I accidently deleted more than half of them off the digicam. Plenty from the Rockcliffe too :-(((
