| This weekend was a roller
coaster of ups and downs. I experienced every kind of
emotion from total elation at winning several times (once
from the back of the grid) to complete and utter dispair
for throwing away a half lap
lead by trying to overtake a 4x4 on the outside of a
corner and in another race losing a SACond because the
diff grenaded. And in yet another race going from the
back of the grid to the front and then to the back again
(which hereafter shall be known as a BFB) all in one race
was almost too much to handle. And then, after all that,
having my fellow competitor (and friend), Terry Dalton
("SACsty"), lone me his second car, his
"baby" Corolla, to race against him because my
car's diff blew up halfway through 1st class one race
Sunday. Thanks to
all DAC people for running a very successful weekend!

weekend included:

There was a lot of paint
(and metal, mirrors and door handles) traded as the
competition really got aggressive this weekend. I
especially remember one adrenaline rush after a red
streak of a Volvo came blasting up beside me on the
inside and slam dunked my drivers side through a corner.
Of course I responded with same in short order. It must
have looked like two whales mating.
I was having a good race
at one point with Russ Bond in his MR2 until he opened
the door in a turn and I dove right in to discover
absolutely no grip there. Trying to recover, I pitched
the back end right into Russ' nose! Sorry man!
There was a bit of a
problem with people not obeying flags this weekend. We
were specifically reminded again about the yellow flag
laps at the beginning of practice until everyone is
safely out on track but several cars started to
"race" and pass for a couple of laps during
the yellow flag laps! Are you people colour
challenged!!!!

The track was a volvo
track with mild temps prevailing all weekend. I thought
the track was amazing.

I don't care how fast you are or how impatient you are
with an all wheel drive car getting in your way, if you
are leading your class (and by half a lap no less) - DO
NOT TRY TO PASS THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE CAR!!!! He isn't even
racing against you!!!! Especially on the OUTSIDE of the
corner!!!!
Buy him some Blizzaks so he can stay well out of your
way!
Sunday:
More awesome conditions and a Differential exploding (I
will try to get some pics of the thing as I take it apart
today).

"welded" diff and it cost me a SACond
