Jan 20 & 21st, 2001 I am not sure what to write yet. Mike is
supposed to be contributing his 2 cents worth today (Monday, Jan
22, 2001) but nothing yet...the biggest news of the weekend is
that Mike
The weekend started off with a temperature of -30C at 6AM Saturday morning and rose to about -25C by practice time. The warmest it got was -15C. Great stick for rubber! Sunday stayed around -10C
I had the lead several times over the weekend but could only manage to hold onto 2nd's and 3rds.
Many times I got great starts like from 3rd to 1st into the first corner only to see my lead dwindle away over the course of the race. On the brighter side there were great battles between myself and my competition (mainly Ian Lok) in almost every race! I believe this weekend provided some of the finest racing I have had the pleasure to participate in. Phil Trevor suffered dissapointment on his first weekend back after a year off. It was to be his return to stud racing with a freshly preped Datsun 510, but just a few laps into Sunday's last race he got loose halfway down the straight and hitting the bank rolled several times completely crushing the car. Phil was OK but very sad. Gianni Biral (SAC#12) arrived with his redone rabbit. What a snarling beastly sound with two dual webers and way too much compression! As Saturday progressed Gianni continued to sort out the car and every lap he showed us a little bit more of what the car is capable of. Click pic for Video of Gianni passing Tom Prentice's piclup
truck on the outside of turn one exit
Dave Watson (SAC#10) went AWOL late Friday nite and has not been seen since...if anyone knows what happened please email me.
Paul Gyger, being the good Scottish Mechanic, shows us the proper use of the Scottish wrench. Paul ewe make Angus MacSac proud! Click pic for instructional Video

We may have been witness to the launch of a new career for

Once again the Ministry of Natural Resources chopper was
counting moose and using the pit area as a landing zone. Misc photo's...
