I had a thought... is a thought the same as an idea....an idea , is it something more tangible possibly a more complete thought .... that was just a thought?? Today I tried to replace my plugs in my little 6 banger Topaz ...It is not easy to remove the plugs at the rear.. Why have they made it so hard for the back yard mechanic to do what used to be a simple task... When I last attempted that job (83) I learned that it is always a good IDEA to disconnect the battery as my 'trying to save 45$ ' turned into a 600$ repair 'cause I blew the computer...so removing the cable and 15-20 having successfully changing the front 3 plugs proceeded on tackling the rear 3 ....Guess what they are still in the block as after 2hrs couldn't even get one of the plug wires off .....SO... I conceded to the fact that I will not be doing the whole job this day but now have a car that only runs half as bad... ANY solutions...It used to be so easy back in the earlier days when there was real room to monkey around....Remember when you would fix up the car & people would gather around to look under the hood to see what modifications were done . You'd be hanging out at the car wash , car running , listening to the toons on the radio , shamming the shine you'd come around and point a few things out then you'd make sure that there was skin contact & grab a spark plug line watching the last in line getting to jolt , He'd jump back leaving to next to last and so on & you letting go before you became the receiver Shocking isn't it...... I got a little gift from a friend today ...think I'll take the dog for a walk..... Nice walk and that's all I have to say about that! IDEA - does anyone out there work with copper drain pipe ????If cut in different lengths would it not produce a different tone when tapped???? Maybe someone could give that a try for an instrument ?? What is Going On
